Worth it Hear Fire and Rain play Orem’s free concert series
Fire and Rain brings a James Taylor and Carole King tribute to City Center Park Wednesday. Orem’s farmers market runs the same evening, so you can make the concert part of a market stop.
Our take
Pick this for an outdoor evening with familiar songs. Bring a blanket or lawn chair so you can settle in for the concert.
⚠️ Heads up: This is a tribute act. James Taylor and Carole King are not performing.

Worth it Watch New York Doll, then stay for the conversation
BYU’s Lens and Light film series screens New York Doll in the Arts Building Cinema. A faculty conversation follows the film. Admission is free, but you need a ticket.
Our take
A good choice if you like discussing a movie afterward. Reserve the ticket before making the trip to campus.
⚠️ Heads up: The ticket requirement still applies even though admission is free.

Worth it Browse two days of art in downtown Springville
Springville Art Festival brings artists, chalk art, music, and hands-on activities downtown Friday and Saturday. The festival spreads through Civic Center Park, Festival Street, and the Rivoli area.
Our take
Go Friday for an evening browse. Saturday gives you more time to see the booths and let the kids make something.
⚠️ Heads up: Hands-on art activities have shorter hours: Friday 5-8pm and Saturday 10am-5pm.

Worth it Order the grilled tri-tip at Kitchen Eighty Eight
The American Fork kitchen serves an eight-ounce grilled tri-tip plate with mashed potatoes, broccolini, and your choice of sauce. The current ordering menu lists it at $18.89.
Our take
Our menu pick is the tri-tip with chimichurri. You get the beef and two sides on one plate, which makes this an easy dinner order.
⚠️ Heads up: The restaurant is closed Sundays. Prices are from the current ordering menu and exclude tax.

🌲 Get Outside
Worth it Take a walk through Nielsen’s Grove
Orem’s 21-acre park has walking paths, a pond, a playground, and picnic pavilions. It is a straightforward place to spend an hour outdoors without planning a canyon trip.
Our take
Bring lunch and leave time for the playground. The small pavilions are first come, first served.
⚠️ Heads up: The city’s fountain schedule is seasonal and tentative. Go for the park rather than counting on the fountain running.
