Plus Glen Ray's opening weekend, Snow White in Orem, and BYU's 28-17 win.
Good morning, Happy Valley.
Friday's Rooftop Concert closes the season with the Madison Arm All-Stars playing R.E.M. songs at Nu Skin Plaza. Gates open at six, music starts at seven, and admission is free.
For tonight, Provo Library has trivia and Saratoga Springs has its farmers market. Later in the week, you can walk a corn maze, see Snow White in Orem, or take a blanket to an outdoor movie in American Fork.

Our Friday pick Hear R.E.M. songs at the free Rooftop finale
The Madison Arm All-Stars perform the songs of R.E.M. at Nu Skin Plaza Friday. Debra Fotheringham is also on the bill for the Rooftop Concert Series' final show of 2026. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
Our take
We'd use the hour between gates and music to meet friends downtown, then stay for the R.E.M. set. You can bring the whole family without buying concert tickets.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: The Madison Arm All-Stars are performing R.E.M. songs. R.E.M. itself is not appearing.

Old Provo Channel piers still need their trail connections
Crews have finished extra stability work on three fishing platforms along the Old Provo Channel. The entrances still need to connect to the trail after Utah County repaves it. Two non-motorized boat ramps are functional, but their edges and trail connections also need finishing work this fall.
Timpanogos Elementary rebuild moves toward a December bid
The former Dixon Middle School came down in August. Provo City School District plans to seek construction bids in December for a replacement Timpanogos Elementary on that site, with groundbreaking planned for February 2027. The move would give the elementary more room and move its students away from busy 500 West.

Easy Monday plan Take a team to Provo Library trivia tonight
Provo Library hosts an hour of general-knowledge trivia in the Nelson Attic tonight. Bring five to eight friends, or arrive on your own and join a group there.
Our take
This works when your friends can spare an hour on a Monday. You don't need to assemble a full team before coming.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: Seating is first come, first served. Groups larger than eight will be split.

Go before dark Glen Ray's opens Friday, with an earlier closing time
Glen Ray's starts its Spanish Fork season Friday with a three-part corn maze, a scavenger hunt, farm animals and giant slides. Regular farm activities come with admission. You can enter the U-pick pumpkin patch, but pumpkins cost extra.
Our take
Pick Saturday before dark if you want time for the maze and the farm activities. The opening-weekend closing time is nine, so don't plan around the usual 11pm finish.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: Field of Fright does not open until Sep 25. This weekend is for the regular farm attractions.

Pick the right performance Choose a Snow White ballet performance in Orem
Utah Metropolitan Ballet brings its full-length Snow White to the Noorda Center Friday and Saturday. Saturday's 10am performance is sensory-friendly, with a separate sign-up for families affected by autism.
Our take
We'd choose Saturday at two for children who won't enjoy a late finish. The company also advertises code UMBFAMILY40 for 40% off up to four tickets per family.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: The sensory-friendly show uses its own sign-up. Student rush is $16 plus a small box-office fee with valid student ID, on the performance day.

Bring a blanket Watch The Boys in the Boat at Hunter Park
American Fork screens The Boys in the Boat outdoors Friday. Bring your own blanket or chairs and snacks to Hunter Park for the rowing film.
Our take
Choose this over a concert if you'd rather settle into a chair for the evening. Pack the snacks at home and bring a layer for after sunset.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: The city starts the movie when the screen is dark enough to see. Eight is an estimate, not a fixed start.

Save with advance tickets Buy Taste of Orem food tickets before Friday night
Taste of Orem runs Saturday at City Center Park. You can watch the performances without a ticket; food samples require paper tickets. Each sample costs one to five tickets, and booths cannot take cash, cards or Venmo for food.
Our take
Buy a 20-ticket sheet before Friday ends if you plan to eat. That saves four dollars over Saturday's price. Walk the booths before spending the whole sheet at your first stop.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: Tickets are nonrefundable. Collect online orders at the park info booth on Saturday.

Open until eight midweek Visit Hutchings Museum after work Wednesday
Hutchings Museum in downtown Lehi stays open until 8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Its exhibits include fossils, rocks and minerals, a pioneer cabin, and Lehi history.
Our take
Use the later Wednesday hours for a museum visit after school or work. We'd start with the fossils, then leave time for the Lehi history exhibits.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: Closed Mondays and Sundays. This is a midweek option, not a stop for today.
